The game is where the perpetrator is hiding out at some remote location, inflicting a lot of damage and best of all it will be difficult to prove who he is even more difficult to take to court. Best possible scenario for the enemy and the worst of the worst position to be in as a victim.

So why do they not just kill immediately?
Its all about the motives. Read here about the motives. In short typical motives are

• Insurance fraud where death of the victim means profits for the perpetrator
• Using humans as test objects for weapons or medical research
• Revenge, hatred and some justice (not to say its legal or ethical)

In all these cases, the perpetrator is trying to simulate a natural death or situation.
For insurance fraud, it would make sense if the unsuspecting victim lived to a point where the
policy matured then only wiped out as though its a natural cause.

No need to worry about immediate death then, as a consolation, but a bigger worry is the pain
stress and absolute hell. And that's why most victims would rather just kill themselves
